Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Claptastic Voyage announced with release date

Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 arrives the same day

On March 24, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will get new downloadable content in the form of a campaign-add on and increased level cap.

Revealed during Gearbox's PAX East Panel, Claptastic Voyage actually sends you into the digitized mind of Claptrap in search of the "mysterious 'H-Source' code" at the request of Handsome Jack. While in Claptrap's mind, you'll need to deal with things like his personal insecurities, malware, and "digital representations of his crushing loneliness." New environments, new (and old) friends, new gear, and unique Achievements/Trophies are also included. There's also a customizable new mutator arena that lets you choose your own gravity settings, enemy mixes, and more. Perhaps more interesting, though, some of Borderlands' biggest mysteries will finally be answered, like why Claptrap loves dubstep so much.

In addition to the Claptastic Voyage, March 24 will also see the release of the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2, the last add-on pack in the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season Pass. It'll raise your character level cap to 70, providing 10 new levels, plus 10 new skill points to earn.

Both Claptastic Voyage and the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 are included in the Season Pass. For those who don't own the pass, both of these DLCs will be sold together as one pack for $9.99. Like all Season Pass add-on content, Claptastic Voyage and Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 will be included in the release of Borderlands: The Handsome Jack Collection for Xbox One and PS4, which also just so happens to be on March 24.
