Remember how we called into question the missing Xbox 360 and PS3 logos in yesterday's Cage family-focused trailer for Mortal Kombat X? Well, we now know why they weren't shown; the last-gen versions of Mortal Kombat X have been delayed.
In a statement confirming our suspicions, Warner Bros. revealed that the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Mortal Kombat X have been delayed until summer. The Xbox One, PS4, and PC versions are all still on track to release on April 14.
"Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today confirmed that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Mortal Kombat X being developed by High Voltage Software will release this summer," a statement from Warner Bros. reads. "The Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC versions will be available April 14."
Although NetherRealm is developing the Xbox One and PS4 versions, the last-gen ports are being handled by Saints Row 4: Re-Elected developer High Voltage Software. We're not sure why the last-gen versions have been delayed, but this isn't the first time this type of thing has happened. Last year, Respawn Entertainment's Xbox 360 port of Titanfall, which was handled by Bluepoint, was delayed as well. Not that there's any correlation between the two games, maybe there's just something in that last-gen water.
