Ryan Reynolds assures the ‘most critical of fanboys’ will like Deadpool

It better be good.

Last we heard from Ryan Reynolds, he was teasing the new Deadpool movie by posting a picture of the character's mask. Recently though, Reynolds — who will be playing Wade Wilson (better known as Deadpool) — sat down for an interview with short list where they asked a bunch of non-Deadpool related questions, except for just the one that really mattered. You know, the one question about how he feels about Deadpool getting released next year.

The answer started off very PR friendly, Reynold's is "incredibly happy about it," but it quickly moved in to the area of importance – the fact that the movie is devoted to Deadpool's canon:

I’m incredibly happy about it – we’ve got a director that understands that world, and writers with a slavish devotion to the canon of that character. That’s the most important aspect: it’s made in a way the most critical of fanboys could embrace. Well, that’s the hope

It was also recently revealed that Firefly's Morena Baccarin had been cast as the lead female
