In a recent post on The Legend of Zelda Facebook, Eiji Aonuma posted a video giving an update on the status of the game. What could have looked like some great news for Zelda fans, turned to some unfortunate, yet not completely surprising news.
Eiji Aonuma stated "In these last three months, as the team has experienced firsthand the freedom of exploration that hasn't existed in any Zelda game to date, we have discovered several new possibilities for this game." He continued, "As we have worked to turn these possibilities into reality, new ideas have continued so spring forth, and it now feels like we have the potential to create something that exceeds even my own expectations."
With wording like that, you already know exactly what's coming next…
"So I must apologize to you all that were expecting the game by year's end, but we are no longer making a 2015 release our number one priority."
Boom, there it is. No updated date, nothing.
But remember, delays usually mean good things. However, there is a possibility that this Zelda game could actually be transitioning to Nintendo's next console, codenamed NX. Before you put on your skepticism hats, look at the following tweet from Nintendo:
Mr. Aonuma & team will be hard at work on #Zelda and have decided not to show it @ E3. Thanks for your patience! https://t.co/bwu3nd3fNi

Not showing it at this year's E3 could mean that the game could in fact be in development for the NX, and wait until next year's E3 to not only unveil the NX, but also announce that the next Zelda game will be its launch title.
THE PROPHETS HAVE SPOKEN!
