With Season 5 of The Walking Dead now in the books, AMC has taken the opportunity to tease its highly anticipated spinoff series, Fear the Walking Dead.
Although Fear the Walking Dead is set in the same universe as the one established by Robert Kirkman's comic series — of which the AMC's The Walking Dead series is based on — the spinoff series will focus on a different question.
What did the world look like as it was transforming into the horrifying apocalypse depicted in The Walking Dead? This summer, AMC will answer that question with Fear The Walking Dead, an all-new original series set in Los Angeles, following new characters as they face the beginning of the end of the world.
Today's teaser trailer doesn't reveal too much, only teasing the outbreak as some sort of "strange virus." Check out the teaser below.
Fear the Walking Dead is set to premiere this summer, with a second season airing in 2016. It stars Kim Dickens (Gone Girl, Sons of Anarchy), Cliff Curtis (Missing, Gang Related), Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Storm) and is Executive Produced by Dave Erickson (Marco Polo, Sons of Anarchy), Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert.
