Daybreak Game Company Art Director Sebastian Strzalkowski has given us a look at the updated female player character models hopefully coming to H1Z1 this month.
Strzalkowski tweeted yesterday a photo of the female character's hair progress, with the texturing "almost done." It's look very nice!

Strzalkowski notes that this is just the first hair style, with Daybreak working on more options "soon." What's more, the new player character rig will support the different hair styles, like ponytails, pigtails, etc.
Talking about the female character design back in March, Strzalkowski noted that the female model will be "relatively the same height as the male model, so there will be no advantage in terms of hit target space."
The developer is also creating male and female equivalent clothing.
"If you find a pair of jeans in H1Z1 as a male PC and wear them, you’ll have the male version visually; if you find that same pair as a female PC, you’ll have the female version visually," he explained. "The clothes will basically be the same slightly modified to fit each gender. Nothing will be restricted to either gender and there will always be a 1:1 equivalent for each one."
Daybreak is aiming for an April release for female player character models. The developer says this is the first step toward "a universal character system with more clothing slots to mix and match."
