Before doors to Toys 'R' Us even opened, the retailer exclusive Greninja amiibo has already sold out. How is that possible? People are camping out at Toys 'R' Us for a chance at grabbing a pre-order for the amiibo, which is so limited that it looks like a lot of Toys 'R' Us stores only received around 10 Greninja.
The amiibo craze is so real that people were reportedly showing up the night before at around 9PM — 13 hours before store doors open. Others arrived at stores anywhere from 2AM to 7AM, while the more lucky people rolled up to their local Toys 'R' Us at 9AM and saw an empty parking lot — but then saw the 'Sold Out' sign.
It's tough to be an amiibo collector. The black market for the toys must be insane. If you don't believe me, let's take a look at people waiting for the luscious blue frog with a scarf made out of its own tongue:
