A long, long time ago, developer Rockstar Games briefly teased "big plans" for new content for Grand Theft Auto 5's Story Mode. Of course, this was back in 2013, and the plans were for 2014. Now in 2015, those plans have yet to come to fruition. So what's the deal?
Speaking During Take-Two's earnings call, company CEO Strauss Zelnick, when asked about new story-based DLC content, revealed, "No, we haven't discussed any story-based downloadable content. We did talk about the Heists and they've been released."
When the analyst pressed further, asking, "But I am correct in remembering that you had talked about that around the launch of the game?” Zelnick replied, "Uhh, we have different recollection."
Keep in mind, this comes after Shawn Fonteno, the actor who played Franklin, let it slip that he's been working on new story content for the game.
Following the earnings call, a Take-Two representative sought to clarify Zelnick's responses.
"Strauss misspoke during today's call, as over a year ago Rockstar Games had said that they were exploring story mode content for Grand Theft Auto V; however, no further information has been released since. As always, we leave it to Rockstar Games to share information about their games when they're ready."
Earlier this month, Rockstar talked a bit about new content for Grand Theft Auto 5, but it all revolved around the game's online multiplayer mode, GTA Online.
