With E3 right around the corner, Natsume has announced Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories, the next title in the long-running farm simulation/RPG series, will be available on Nintendo Wii U on PC. This will be the first time a Harvest Moon game has appeared on either of the platforms.
As the title sort of suggests, Seeds of Memories will go back to the roots of Harvest Moon. "Inspired by the old-school gameplay of the very first games, Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories will bring players a sense of nostalgia, along with exciting gameplay twists," Natsume said of the newly announced game.
"Tasked with the job of revitalizing a farm, players will need to befriend the villagers in town to unlock the titular "Seeds of Memories"! Seeds can be unlocked in many ways, such as giving a villager their favorite item, catching a giant fish, or by raising their first cow. Players will need to be up to the challenge of collecting all of the Seeds of Memories
Featuring cooking, fishing, foraging, and mining, players will need to upgrade their tools to find the highest-quality items. Players will also be able to participate in contests and festivals like the Cooking Contest and Starry Night Festival! Woo one of the ten marriage candidates – 5 bachelors and 5 bachelorettes – and find that special someone to make their farming life complete!"
Cows, sheep, chickens, and ridable horses are all slated to return, along with a dog that you can keep as a pet. You'll also have a new pet to take care of — a bobcat. The bobcat starts out wild, but you can befriend the animal and (hopefully) convince it to become your loyal friend.
Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories will be available on Wii U and Steam, as well as iOS and Android devices this winter. It will be the first mainline Harvest Moon title to appear on both iOS and Android.
