Rumors of Dark Souls 3 have been floating around recently, sources have claimed the Dark Souls and Bloodborne game director Hidetaka Miyazaki was back at the helm to bring Dark Souls 3 to life. The rumor was interesting since Bloodborne currently has an expansion in development and one would assume Miyazaki would be overseeing that (but we all know what they say about assumptions).
According to IGN, Dark Souls 3 is real and it's coming in "Early 2016." A promotional image (as seen in this article) that was obtained by the site confirms this release window. While IGN does not reveal their source or even go as far as mentioning a reliable source confirming it, they believe that it is real.
If Dark Souls 3 is to release in 2016, there's a question of when the Bloodborne expansion will release and how Miyazaki oversaw the development of both games without losing his mind. I have been let down too many times by rumors, so excuse me if I'm just a little untrusting of this one. Let us spare a moment and remember The Last Guardian fondly.
