As Splatoon grows its selection of maps, new variables are introduced, causing strategies to fluctuate. Weave-in, weave-out tactics you may employ to success on Port Mackerel won't serve you as well on a more spacious map like Kelp Dome. With Splatoon's next DLC stage, you'll need to get used to a feeling of constant exposure.
During a Twitch demonstration of Splatoon's new Tower Control mode, which debuts tomorrow, the team at Nintendo Treehouse concluded the showing with a first look at an upcoming DLC stage called Moray Towers.
The stage looks to take the tug-of-war premise to new heights, with a series of towers arranged in a zigzag pattern and featuring accompanying ramps for you to make a gradual ascent towards the opponent's base. Due to the open setup, hiding places are few and far between and the action can be viewed from nearly all angles without obstruction. The map is sure to prompt aggressive strategies and bring usual cherry-pickers out into the front lines.
No word yet on when Splatoon will be updated to feature the new stage, but given the turn-around on the last few additions, it's reasonable to expect it not long after the first Splatfest this Saturday.
