Capcom wants to know if you want a Resident Evil 2 Remake

Yes. Yes? Yes.

When Capcom released the Resident Evil Remaster for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC-Steam at the beginning of the year, the company was met with the "fastest selling digital title in history across Europe and North America." Basically, people wanted this game and the remastered version was so good that it broke company records.

Shortly after the success of their remaster of Resident Evil, Capcom announced that Resident Evil 0 would be getting remastered and that they would be focusing on remastering more games from their library

Fans have been so hungry for more that they could be likened to the ravenous zombies from the series. The hunger has driven fans to remake Resident Evil 2 in Unity without Capcom's permission to use the brand – they do own it after all.

In light of the fan made remasters, Capcom has taken to Facebook to gauge whether or not they should remaster Resident Evil 2 and how they should go about it:

Hello Resident Evil fans!
This is Capcom R&D Division 1!

First off, we would like to express our deepest appreciation to all Resident Evil fans, for your passion, enthusiasm and continued support for the Resident Evil brand.

Enthusiasm for a Resident Evil 2 Remake is something we've been hearing from you over the years, and has drawn some recent attention in the media.

However, as the team owns the RE brand, we're not certain how we feel about this approach, and would like to ask your honest and frank opinion about the “Resident Evil 2 Remake” and what the brand identity is supposed to be about?

If Capcom were to go the Resident Evil Remake route with Resident Evil 2 that would be great. Taking the Resident Evil 2 and bringing it today's standards with new pre-rendered backgrounds… it would be a no brainer.

Hey, Capcom – between the two of us?
