Dying Light: The Following detailed with brand new trailer

Techland shares new details on Dying Light's next expansion

Last month, Techland teased us with a brief look at Dying Light's next expansion, "The Following." We had to wait until Gamescom this month to see it though, and after hosting some behind-closed-door previews, the developer has finally lifted the curtain.

Dying Light: The Following is a story-based expansion set in a "massive" new area that's as big as the original maps from Dying Light combined. The expansions sees Kyle Crane travel to "a hazardous outback ruled by mysterious and fanatical cultists whose beliefs have unnerving connections with the zombie outbreak."

You'll, of course, have to get close to the cult to unravel their secrets, and to do so you'll need to complete various missions and tasks to earn the trust of the locals. You'll also be able to choose your own path for infiltrating the inner circles of the cultists. The expansion will also bring fully customizable and upgradable dirt buggies, complete with its own unique skill tree, to traverse the Harran countryside.

“Gamescom 2015 was our first chance to let people play Dying Light: The Following so I was a bit nervous – admits producer Tymon SmektaÅ‚a. But so many positive reactions really showed me we made the right decision to work on this expansion. With its new map and far-reaching gameplay additions, it feels like we’ve hit the sweet spot for what players are expecting from us.”
