Why you should Vote to Play Zombie Vikings on PS4

Old-school hack 'n' slash with zombies and friends

The reason I love PlayStation Plus is that it gives me a chance to play new games that I otherwise might not have spent money on. Now, with Vote to Play allowing me the choice to pick one of three games to be free, I have the chance to actually look at three games coming to PlayStation 4 and choose which one interests me the most. Vote to Play only makes the game that received the most votes free (while the other two receive discounts), which is why I'm here to tell you to vote for Zombie Vikings.

I'll admit, I've only recently become familiar with Zombie Vikings, a new game from the creators of last year's indie hit Stick It To The Man! So you know there's going to be some quality with this indie title.

Zombie Vikings is a four-player co-op "tab-you-in-the-gut-a-thon with a dead-funny adventure." Or as indie developer Zoink likes to refer to it, a "story brawler." It's an old-school hack 'n' slash with humorous elements and a whimsical art design. It has over 10 hours of gameplay, 30 levels, and 40 "insane" swords.

But what really piques my interest is the philosphy behind the game's design. Zombie Vikings has been created specifically for friends to play together. "Friday night, pizza, a bunch of friends on a big comfy couch and a great game… being an old-school hack ‘n’ slash, Zombie Vikings fits the bill perfectly," the studio wrote back in December. And don't worry, it's got online play as well.

I love playing games online with friends, and Zombie Vikings looks like a fun playthrough. That's why it's getting my vote for September and why it should get yours as well.

Sony's Vote to Play kicks off at 8:30am Pacific (11:30am Eastern) and will run over the weekend, ending on Monday, August 24th at 8:30 am Pacific. Voting is only open to PlayStation Plus members, and because it's for a PS4 game, you must vote on your PlayStation 4. Simply log in to your account, and you can access Vote to Play under "What's New", "Notifications", or the PS Plus section of the PlayStation Store.
