I wasn't sure what the response to HBO's Ballers would be. Its tone is kind of all over the place and it hasn't really gone anywhere meaningful in its first season. Yet each week I find myself tuning in. It's a fun, mindless watch. And it has The Rock, fancy cars, and good looking women in it. Whatever the case, Ballers has quickly become one of HBO's most successful shows.
According to show star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, it is now HBO's most watched show (30 minute) since 2009, and is now officially beating ENTOURAGE's highest rated season.
"My goal was to make a show that was dope, authentic, and fun," The Rock said. "We appreciate y'all diggin' it!"
It's not the deepest show I've seen, but it is a fun watch for the 30 minutes its on. Ballers airs Sunday nights at 10:00pm on HBO. There are only two episodes left.
