A reboot of the popular 90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is reportedly in the works and Will Smith is apparently spearheading the project.
The show is still in "very early stages" of development, is said to put a new, modern-day spin on the original series' premise while maintaining the same spirit. It's unknown if this will be a straight reboot or a revival/continuation similar to what we've seen recently with Disney's Girl Meets World or Netflix's Fuller House. The pitch is supposedly being finalized now, with Overbrook to begin shopping it around "in the coming weeks."
The original Fresh Prince series aired for six season on NBC, ending in 1996. And just like that, another classic 90s show will be ruined for a new generation. Seriously folks, just have your children watch the original; it won't get better than that.
