As we mentioned earlier this year, EA has reworked the scouting and drafting process in Madden NFL 16. But up until kickoff today, we didn't really know if this year's changes were really an improvement.
Everything detailed earlier this year holds true. You spend Scouting Points each week, starting at week 3, to learn more about a players abilities. You spend points to unlock a player's top three attributes, with the third unlock providing their true draft value. This is designed to help you find "Diamonds" and "Overvalued" players in the draft class.
Beyond scouting, there's now a Combine before the draft, providing you with detailed information on the players from six events: 40-yard Dash, Vertical Jump, Broad Jump, 3 Cone, 20-yard Shuttle, and Bench Press.
With the combine events coupled with your scouting, you should now be able to enter the draft with a much more sound strategy instead of just going in blindly and hoping for the best (you know, like the Raiders do every year). Check out the new scouting process in action above, and stay tuned as we bring you inside the draft later on today.
