A quick look at Kickstarter indicates this Divinity: Original Sin 2 thing is happening. The crwodfunding campaign launched this morning and has already surpassed $300,000 in funding (the goal is $500,000). Backers are no doubt excited about exclusive rewards that include custom artwork, a collector's edition and a surprise pack featuring keepsakes from the RPG's creation. Also, every backer who contributes $25 or more will receive Alpha and Beta access.
The first Divinity: Original Sin released in 2014 and won numerous Game of the Year Awards. The sequel adds a multiplayer game for up to four in addition to its single-player mode. Players have the option to betray their teammates in battle for benefits to their character, or just for kicks. That is, they don't mind the retribution sure to come later.
Larian Studios is hoping to release the title in late 2016, but admits that's far from a definite date. But the Divinity players are definitely ready to tackle it.
