Mark Ruffalo has been doing a good job in the role of Bruce Banner/Hulk in the Avengers films, but despite previous reports he won't be making it into the Captain America: Civil War film. About a month ago, Ruffalo was spotted on the set of Civil War – suggesting an appearance in the film, but the star has stepped forward to silence rumors.
In an interview with Italian film site Bad Taste, Ruffalo revealed that not only would Hulk be missing from Civil War, but the reason for his absence was simply too great of a mystery for him to speak on. Either he doesn't know himself or there's going to be some real drama later on.
“The reason [for Hulk’s disappearance] is too great to be revealed in [Civil War],” Ruffalo said. “I was in the script but then they removed my character. They don’t want to reveal where is he and why. I don’t even know if Hulk will be back soon.” Ruffalo notes that he was in the film's script, which may be an explanation for why we saw him on set. All that aside, simply because Hulk isn't making it onto the big screen in Civil War doesn't mean Bruce Banner won't.
