A brand new promotional video has been released by EA Sports, this time focusing on changes to FIFA 16 Ultimate Team.
This new video outlines several issues that came about in last year's FIFA title, with EA Sports keen to nip the coin selling bots in the bud this time around. The well documented issue of external coin selling brought about many other frustrating changes to the FIFA UT marketplace, something that gamers would presumably like to avoid in this year's title.
For example, a lot of players would purchase coins online which meant that the amount of richer Ultimate Teams came to light. The richer that the marketplace become, the more inconsistent the prices would become.
So, FIFA's solution was simple. They created their very own price caps for each online UT card, meaning that gamers could no longer list cards for any price, but in accordance to a more regulated and set boundary. This was probably an alright idea on paper but when put into practice it probably made the game even more unbalanced as players were decreasing in value much quicker than expected, therefore buying players was a waste of time from an economic standpoint. One minute an Ultimate Team squad could be bought for around 3million coins, and after a few weeks that same squad could be worth 300k, which was arguably a catastrophe for the online marketplace.
On a brighter note, EA Sports has announced that they will be improving the marketplace for the Ultimate Team game mode considerably in FIFA 16. The new promotional material has revealed that a focus on a smoother style of trading seems to be on the horizon, allowing for much wider price ranges. Also, the transfer market will be returning to handheld via the EA App, which is another useful feature.
This is not the only issue that FIFA 16 will address, there are various others that can be viewed in the video above, however the transfer market was definitely the most outstanding. The game is set for release on September 22nd in some countries, however it will hit the UK on the 24th.
