Earlier this year, Paradox released Cities: Skylines and today they celebrate its first expansion. Cities: Skylines After Dark takes the game’s original premise and expands upon it with features that generally expand nighttime life.
In After Dark, the biggest change to this city management game is citizens seeking entertainment after work hours are over. Additionally, crime takes a more active role, requiring players to form new strategies to combat it. A whole fleet of new things are featured in After Dark.
Even original players of Cities: Skylines are getting an update in the form of day-and-night cycles, as well as a series of other features that could be considered an “expansion lite”. Many of these features just make the base game more convenient to use, but there are also some that show off the “flavor” of the expansion such as different day/night transport lines, street lights, and a budget slider for both day and night.
The expansion is available on Steam for $14.99 as well as their Webshop. After Dark is available for PC, Mac and Linux.
