Preacher gets its first official trailer during episode 4 of The Walking Dead

Team Arseface.

For years, rumors of Preacher transitioning onto the small screen was the singular myth that comic fans would never let die. The iconic Garth Ennis tale relates the story of down and out preacher Jesse Custer who has been afflicted with divine and disturbing powers via an entity known as Genesis. It also hosts a rag tag supporting cast of characters including Custer’s marksman girlfriend Tulip and his perennial screwup vampire buddy Cassidy.

The series is pretty damned fantastic and makes its appearance on just about every Top Comics You Should Read List that’s out there and with good reason. So when the rumors and false starts and cancelled attempts at putting this into TV form finally ended with the announcement that Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg would be teaming up with Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad) to finally bring the series to life it was kind of a relief. Fans of Ennis had wanted this for literal years and we’ve all been hurt by promises that never actually resulted in anything.

That said, AMC has officially announced that during episode 4 of The Walking Dead’s season 6 we’ll finally be getting the first official trailer for Preacher. The 90 minute episode titled Here’s Not Here (S6E4) airs on November 1st.
