Let's face it, Titans are pretty overpowered in Destiny. Hell, I'm a Titan and even I admit it.
With The Taken King expansion came the Titan's solar subclass, Sunbreaker. And even if you don't have a Titan, I'm sure you're quite familiar with the Sunbreaker's ridiculously overpowered super, Hammer of Sol.
Basically, this inflames the Titan and grants them with multiple flaming Thor-like hammers that can one-hit kill anyone, even other Guardians using their super. But the one-shot kill isn't what makes this so strong, it's the practically unlimited range along with the long timer it's active for. You're just about guaranteed at least a triple kill from it — and that's if you struggle to find enemies.
Well, that's possibly changing with Destiny's December update. Although Bungie hasn't explicitly said anything yet, changes nerfs to the Titan Sunbreaker subclass are undoubtedly on the way. It was hinted as much in last week's blog post, following the detailed plans for weapon tuning.
"This is not the last you’ll hear from the Design Team before December. [Senior Design Lead Sage Merrill] has been thinking a lot about Titans, and he’ll share some thoughts on the matter before the update goes live," Bungie wrote.
Sure, there's no direct mention of a nerf, but I have a hard time believing Bungie thinks Titans need to be buffed. I'm going to go ahead and assume we'll see a shorter active period for Hammer of Sol along with a slightly less throwing range. Perhaps they'll make it so throwing the hammers takes a bigger chunk out of the active bar so you'll have to be more selective with your throws rather than just spamming them.
These are just my guesses, as someone who actively plays the Titan class. How would you like to see the classes balanced?
