Life is Strange takes home Best Original Game and Best Adventure at Global Game Awards

Takes 2nd in two other categories

The results have been released for the Global Game Awards, Game Debate's fan voting awards conducted both online and on social media. DontNod's Life is Strange was the fortunate subject of four awards with two first and two second place finishes.

Max and Chloe's emotionally driven story took home first place in the category of Best Original Game beating out Pillar's of Eternity, Until Dawn and Bloodborne. It also won for best adventure earning more votes than Tales from the Borderlands, King's Quest and Stasis.

As far as the second place categories go, it took second in Game of the Year, one of the most coveted categories. While The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt took the gold, Life is Strange did beat out Fallout 4, GTA V, Cities: Skylines, Metal Gear Solid V, Pillars of Eternity and Bloodborne. With such a huge emphasis on large, action RPG's, the fact that Life is Strange won the award shows the level of detail fans put on games of its nature.

The last award was Best Story, to which it took second place to only The Witcher 3 but beat out Game of Thrones and Her Story. Regardless of whether you are a sports fan, RPG nut or MMO player, any gamer can appreciate the level of emotion that went the development of Life is Strange. As the season concluded on October 20th, it's my personal game of the year and we'll have to wait until next month to see how it fairs at The Game Awards.
