People are already lining up for Star Wars: The Force Awakens

No such thing as too early.

In just over a week, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be officially releasing in theaters and people are already lining up for it. The fact that fans are already lining up shouldn't be a surprise, the pre-sale tickets for The Force Awakens sold more tickets on the first day of sales than the previous record holder – by eight times.

Over 100 people have set up camp outside of the Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, California. “We’re lining up for the new ‘Star Wars’ movie,” said Caroline Ritter, an Australian woman at the front of the line, according to The New York Times. “Yes, we still have a very long time to wait,” Ms. Ritter added. “No, we’re not crazy.”

Camping out for a film a week in advance isn't too surprising with all the tickets sold and the growing hype around the film. The Star Wars franchise has seen a lot of support since the film's announcement, but it's not like it needed that much support. The series has an incredibly strong following and will without a doubt be breaking box office records.

Judging by the tents, folks are in it for the long haul.
