There seems to have been an awakening in London.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega has revealed that filming for Disney's next galactic instalment will start within a few weeks.
Just after a screening of the new Star Wars film at Brixton's Ritzy cinema Boyega spoke of his delight to crack on with the filming of Episode VIII, where he'll presumably be working alongside Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey.
As the credits were rolling on Sunday night and people were preparing to leave the South London cinema, they were greeted by Boyega, as he said to the audience: "It's an alright film, innit?"
"I have been doing some pop-ups at several different cinemas all over London and I definitely had to come to Brixton since I'm from down the road in Peckham.
"So I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for coming out and supporting this movie."
The new Star Wars movie has been breaking records ever since its release, and just recently eclipsed Jurassic World's $525m opening weekend – with Star Wars: The Force Awakens earning $4m more.
Boyega continued: "The movie is yours now and I really hope you enjoyed it and we are so happy to be starting on episode eight in a few weeks in London and it is going to be fun.
"May the force be with you always."
Star Wars: Episode VIII is expected to hit cinema screens on May 27th 2017.
