Rare Pokémon amiibo to become available again

Charizard, Jigglypuff, and more to return to store shelves

Detailing its plans for amiibo support throughout early 2016, Nintendo confirmed that select rare Pokémon amiibo will be made available at select retailers.

Cebrating the 20th anniversary of Pokémon, fans should be on the lookout for the following Pokémon amiibo returning to store shelves: Charizard, Jigglypuff, Greninja, and Lucario. Most of these amiibo were released in early 2016, but have been hard to find since.

Last February, the late Satoru Iwata confirmed plans to release amiibo cards in place of the harder to find amiibo figures like Rosalina, Shulk, and Lucario. We saw the beginning of these plans with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, but have yet to see cards for the Super Smash Bros. amiibo.

In related news, Nintendo also announced today that Star Fox Zero will also feature amiibo functionality when it launches for Wii U on April 22. Nintendo offered no further details, however.
