Someone recreated the first level of Spyro the Dragon in Unreal Engine 4

I didn't even know I missed this game until I saw this.

Get ready to be hit with nostalgia. Spyro the Dragon was a totally awesome PlayStation game from 1998, and now you can see why.

IAmMurloc has recreated Spyro the Dragon's first level 'Artisan's Homeworld' in Unreal Engine 4.

"The overall colours and lighting in general are far from finished," they wrote on Reddit (via GamesRadar). "The sky for example is still too dark, clouded and blue compared to the original and for the buildings I tried to replicate the shapes visible on the first game's buildings but as shapes instead of flat textures."

Look at it, look at it in its glory:

This isn't the first time that Spyro saw an Unreal Engine remake…

In the video above you'll see the culmination of Jamie Shilvock's third and final year at Sheffield Hallam University. Shivlock also recreated Spyro the Dragon's first level 'Artisan's Homeworld' in Unreal Engine 4 and it's pretty great.

Don't expect Shilvock to release the assets for this magnificent creation though, every bit of work that Shivlock made for the university is owned by them. The best Jamie can do is show it off in YouTube videos.
