If you were one of the many who pre-ordered Star Wars: The Force Awakens on DVD or Blu-ray, you might have gotten a nice email this weekend in regards to the release date.
The email that Amazon sent showed an April 5th release date; a date that follows up the speculated rumors. But not long after, Amazon sent out another email saying that they do not have a release date for the film.
Blu-ray.com also might have spilt the beans. They recently had The Force Awakens listed for an April 5th release date, but if you check now the listing now it has been removed. It looks like an April 5th release date will indeed be happening, but we will just have to wait for an official announcement form Disney.
Director J.J. Abrams already stated that there will be no extended cut of the film, but rather just deleted scenes. Abrams did reveal a bit of what we could expect in the deleted scenes, though, for example, “There’s a shot where Kylo Ren turns on his lightsaber, which was not in the movie,” said Abrams. “There were a bunch of things we ended up not using.”
In related news, Warner Bros. and TT Games revealed that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be getting its very own LEGO game. It will feature exclusive content that helps bridge the gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens as well as two brand new features. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens release on June 28, 2016.
