Following the successful release of Rocket League, developer Psyonix is looking for more ways to appease fans of the original game.
That's right, before Rocket League there was Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars — a game of similar nature, but crazier maps.
Well, Psyonix is looking to bring some of that crazy back to Rocket League with Rocket Labs, a new set of community focused maps. These specially designed maps have a distinct, unique design to them that alters the approach to Rocket League's core physics-based gameplay.
Currently, there are three Rocket Labs maps in the works:
Retro Utopia: A throwback to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, this map is a circular, donut-shaped map with a Tron skin.
Underpass: This is a two-tiered map with the outer level slightly raised to allow for more verticality in gameplay.
Double Goal: As the name suggests, this map has the goals split so there are two possible ways to score.
Psyonix recently previewed these maps with GameSpot, so check out the video below for a better look.
The Rocket Labs maps are expected to release alongside the February update, due out "soonish". Rocket League is also set to release on Xbox One this month.
