Star Wars: Episode VIII is now in production, celebrate with a video

Star Wars enters a whole new level of teasers

Teasers for trailers are one thing, but teasers announcing the start of production on a movie? If it were anything other than Star Wars, I'd be pissed. But because this is Star Wars, I'm strangely okay with it.

Actor John Boyega, who plays Finn in the new trilogy, announced he would begin filming Episode VIII during his BAFTAs speech, but a video formally announcing the start of production is WAY cooler.

Not much is known about Star Wars: Episode VIII except that it's being written and directed by Rian Johnson with J.J. Abrams as executive producer. Boyega also recently teased Episode VIII will be "much darker" than its predecessor. The actor is also getting incredibly ripped for the film, which makes sense considering he also said the sequel will be "much more physical." The actor recently showed off a photo of himself getting ripped at the gym.

Following a delay, Star Wars: Episode VIII will now hit theaters on December 15, 2017. In the meantime, fans have Rogue One: A Star Wars Story — the first of Disney's many planned spin-offs — to look forward to later this year on December 18th.
