A group of programmers, artists, voice actors, writers and developers have come together to rebuild Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic in Unreal Engine 4. The group behind the behemoth of a project is called Poem Studios.
The studio is currently working on a reboot of Knight of the Old Republic that will be entirely free to fans. The game, called Apeiron, will remake and remaster the game, while adding content like new worlds, missions, HUD, inventory, items and companions.
Before you ask, yes, this is entirely legal. Poem Studios won't be charging for Apeiron, as Knights of the Old Republic is still owned by Disney. The developers will be taking donations once they complete a larger portion of the game.
You can check out the game's development in a livestream on Twitch. Poem Studios did not detail when they estimate the remake will release.
