Back at D23 Expo is August Disney’s CEO Bob Iger announced the arrival of a brand new Star Wars-themed lands at both its Disneyland park in Anaheim, California, and Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
Concept art for the expansion has been revealed thanks to ABC's 'The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland at 60' TV special, the images were presented by who else, Harrison Ford. Not much is shown of the actual park, but it gives fans a glimpse of what to expect when the park opens including a cantina, Rebel Base, Imperial docking station and much more; take a look at the pictures above.
Besides the atmosphere that fans will be immersed in, Star Wars Lands will have two signature attractions, including the ability to take the controls of one of the most recognizable ships in the galaxy, the Millennium Falcon, on a customized secret mission, and an epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle.
“Every restaurant, building, everything will be inhabited by the aliens and droids you’d expect to find there. You’d expect to find a Cantina – and there will be one. You’ll have the chance to run into all the droids and fantastic beasts that Star Wars is known for,” Iger continued. “You’ll meet characters from The Force Awakens and more from the Star Wars saga.”
The Star Wars-themed expansion will be spread over 13 acres of land, making it the biggest expansion Disney has ever done. The opening day for the park is still unknown, keep with GameZone for further updates.
