Strategic tower defense game will bring new features and improvements with it to Xbox One.
An announcement today by Amplitude has revealed that the studio is bringing its PC defense game Dungeon of the Endless to Xbox One. Originally released on PC in 2014, the game features a group that has crash-landed on an alien planet. Players must explore and manage a team of heroes, survive, and fight their way to the surface in a maze of retro-pixel-art styled randomly generated dungeons.
Like most PC ports, Dungeon of the Endless will have improved UI and controls that better fit the console version. There will be a procedurally generated dungeon setup, which will allow for higher replay value and new experience each time you play. Online gameplay will consist of a cooperative setup including two, three of four players.
Amplitude's Creative Director Romain de Waubert de Genlis commented on the console release by saying
“Being our first game on Xbox One, we have completely rebuilt it with a sensible, intuitive control scheme and an improved user interface, while keeping the tough addictive nature perfectly in tune with the PC original.”
He even issued a challenge to players by stating “We dare you to beat it on Easy mode.” Dungeon of the Endless has a reputation among PC players as a very difficult game, and it looks like the Xbox One version will be no slouch either.
Dungeon of the Endless will release on Xbox One March 16th
