Final Fantasy 15 release date rumored to fall in September

Confirmation to come at the end of March

Newly surfaced information suggests Square Enix will release Final Fantasy 15 in just over six months.

Gematsu reports hearing the date from several insiders, including three independent sources corroborating the information. All point to a simultaneous PS4 and Xbox One launch on September 30. There has been no mention of the rumored PC version of the game.

This information coincides with Square Enix’s assurance that Final Fantasy 15 will release sometime in 2016. In January, Game Director Hajime Tabata said the game was in its final phase of development.

“I vow to you all that every member in the team will do their best to the very last possible moment taking responsibility and pride in their craft,” Tabata added. “We will do everything we can do to finish FFXV to create an experience we are incredibly proud of and one that you will enjoy and treasure.”

Tabata also confirmed that Final Fantasy 15’s release date will officially be revealed during Final Fantasy 15: Uncovered, a premiere event slated for March 30. GameZone will have boots on the ground at Uncovered and deliver regular updates on Final Fantasy 15 throughout.
