Last night we found out that the final consumer edition of the PlayStation VR would not include either the PS4 camera or PS move controllers, but thanks to a recent interview over on Tech Insider, we now have a little more information on the matter.
According to a Sony rep sitting in on the interview told Tech Insider that "there will be a bundle in the SCEA region [North America] with Move and a Camera,". This is great news to hear for the people who opted out to skip the PS4 camera, but why not just include in the first place?
According to Shuehei Yoshida, President of Sony's Worldwide Studios, states that Sony didn't include the camera because "many people already own it." He couldn’t talk numbers but he did say it was a "large enough number of people" for Sony to make the decision to not include the camera.
No specific details were given on the bundled version, but due to the bundle adding both the PS4 camera and PS move controllers, you could expect a higher price than the original $399 SKU. However much the bundled headset ends up costing, it will still be substantially cheaper than both the $599 Oculus or the $799 HTC Vive.
