Erik Bauersfeld, the man that lent his voice to two iconic characters in Star Wars, has passed away at 93 years old.
The voice actor brought us the quote, "It's a trap!" from his role as the Rebellion's Admiral Ackbar in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in 1983. In the same film, Bauersfeld voiced Jabba the Hutt's major-domo Bib Fortuna.
"Actor Erik Bauersfeld, known by Star Wars fans around the globe as the voice of Admiral Ackbar, has passed away," said his management office. "His passing comes at the age of 93 and the cause was natural causes. Erik will be deeply missed by his family here at Coolwaters and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends."
Bauersfeld returned to the Star Wars franchise last year, once again as the voice of Ackbar in The Force Awakens. The voice actor is also credited with lending his voice to Star Wars: X-Wing as Ackbar, Crimson Peak (2015) and A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001).
