This is how Jared Leto formed his version of the iconic Joker laugh

There's some immense pressure to get it right...naturally he had a very odd way of getting there

Ever since Jared Leto's version of The Joker was revealed back in October, a lot has been made about it. Opinions have been…divisive to say the least, but one thing that can't be discredited is how hard Jared Leto is throwing himself at the role. He recently appeared on CNBC's Squawk Box to talk about his process for coming up with the character's frighteningly iconic laugh, and it's almost Joker-like in essence.

Here's what he had to say:

"I kinda walked around the streets and see what laugh would kind of get under peoples' skin. If you hear someone laugh loud at a restaurant it's a little jarring. I tried them out and I got to a place where I would laugh and people would turn around like, 'Who is this creepy guy behind me?'"

Leto has sent some very odd gifts to his cast mates including a rat to his on screen squeeze, Margot Robbie and a dead pig to everyone. All of that is simply Leto taking hold of The Joker role both on screen and off and raising the stakes to his fellow cast mates.

We will see how well Leto's process pays off late this summer on August 5th, 2016.
