A rumor is currently circulating that this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo will likely feature a new trailer for the highly anticipated release of Kingdom Hearts 3.
It was recently announced that Kingdom Hearts 3 is not likely releasing by the end of this year, contrary to popular belief, and could instead be expected to launch no sooner than April 2017. Developer Square Enix seems to have taken their other projects into priority, including their upcoming Final Fantasy games, placing KH3 on the backburner for the time being.
With E3 only a few weeks away, there's been some inevitable speculation regarding Square's presentation for the gaming convention, the most prominent of which is for an actual trailer preceeding the game's release. The launch of Kingdom Hearts 3 has been rumored since the second game in the series dropped back in 2005. The latest game incarnation boasts the same high-energy, RPG action and adventure we've come to love from the games, with a few updates. Famous for placing Sora and his friends into the whimsical worlds of Disney's most beloved franchises, the latest incarnation is expected to feature some of the more recent additions to the Disney mythos, such as Frozen, Tangled, Big Hero 6, Wreck-It-Ralph, and Toy Story.
There's no word yet on whether this rumor will be substantiated, but KH3 has been one of the many game projects wading its way through development hell. With Square Enix constantly pushing back the release date further and further, its a wonder anyone expects it to come out at all. Hopefully, we'll get some more concrete evidence to its eventual availability once E3 begins this June.
