Setting up shop as recently as 2015, Penny Black Studios is a UK based gaming publisher/developer with a mission statement to specialize in virtual and augmented reality gaming experiences. Established by three pros in the gaming industry, Charlie Cole, Ben Jane, and Tom Turner have had their hands in projects like the TimeSplitters and Crysis games.

Their first ever game, How We Soar, is a Playstation VR exclusive (powered by Unreal Engine 4) which places you flying on the back of a phoenix, experiencing flight in virtual reality. Just by soaring towards the flying landscapes throughout, you're able to manipulate the environment and unfold the story.
How We Soar is a VR flight experience that gives you the chance to take up the reins of a beautiful, giant Phoenix and explore an enchanting papercraft world. Seated on the back of this mythical creature, you must reform your surrounding and paint in colour as you soar across this paper environment, uncovering the story of the mysterious Author as you fly.
