Giveaway: Here’s your chance to get into the first MXM Alpha Playtest

If you thought mobas were dead – they're not. NCSOFT has been hard at work on the next generation of action moba games, starting with Master X Master, better known as MXM. You have the opportunity to be one of the first people to play the game!

First off, let's talk about what MXM is:

MXM isn't your average moba, there's actually a PvE mode in the game that allows you to progress through the game's story by completing objectives and fighting options. Each level beings like a PvP match, where you choose your Masters and presets. Each level can be completed solo or co-op with a friend.

The combat in MXM gives you full WASD keyboard control of movements, as well as the ability to jump, dodge, aim your basic attacks and skill shot your abilities. Another interesting feature for the the game is the ability to swap between two different characters whenever you want by using your mouse wheel, which allows you to cook up a ton of different attack plans.

PvP follows the traditional moba style, with 5v5 matches, 3v3 matches and mini games. Each match is set up so that players can win by destroying enemy core or having the most points by the end of the 25-minute match.

Each character, called Master in MXM, has five different abilities, different weapon presets to choose from and cosmetic skins. Currently, there are only 30 different Masters to choose from, but there are plenty on the way. Of the 30 available Masters, MXM features characters from a number of different NCSOFT games, as well as new characters created solely for MXM.

The Alpha Playtest 1:

The first Alpha test for MXM will begin on June 24th at 10am PDT and will end on June 27th at 4pm PDT. The test itself will be focused on 3v3 and 5v5 PvP game modes, but there will also be a number of PvE stages available to test.

The test will not be locked under an NDA, which means if you get a code… you can stream it and share your thoughts on it all you want (just note that it is a very early test for the game). 

How can you get the code? 

Easy.

We will be sharing codes on Twitter starting today (June 21st) until the Alpha goes live on the 24th.

Steps to redeem code:

1. If you already have an NCSOFT account, log in to your account management page:https://login.ncsoft.com/login. If you do not already have an NCSOFT account, create one at: https://account.ncsoft.com/signup/index?serviceCode=
2. Once logged in, go to the “Apply a Code” tab
3. Enter your code in the serial code box and click activate
4. You will then be prompted to download the test client. If that does not pop up, you can download the game athttp://download.playmxm.com/TestMxMInstaller.exe
5. Once download is complete, log in with your NCSOFT account information and start playing once the test begins! (reminder the test only begins on June 24 at 10am PDT)
