Gamescom 2016: New Yooka-Laylee trailer brings back classic Rare gaming

The true Banjo-Threeie

Yooka-Laylee is one of the indie game super Kickstarters, where former members of a company that was once great have broken off to bring us spiritual successors of long-dormant franchises. Playtonic Games comes from former Rare members, and after seeing this latest trailer, it's painfully obvious that Yooka-Laylee is shaping up to be the true successor Banjo-Kazooie deserves.

Scheduled for a Q1 2017 release on PS4, XB1, Wii U, and PC, Yooka-Laylee's latest trailer shows off some platforming in industrialized areas, a library, an ice world, and more. Underwater segments, transformations, and mine carts are present as well. And what's a classic Rare-styled game without googly eyes everywhere?
