Godzilla: Resurgence is coming to the United States this Fall

Japan loves it, but will you?

Ladies and gentlemen this Fall you will have the opportunity to experience what seems to be a Japanese box office phenomenon, the beast from the east, the 2016 live action gross champion… Godzilla: Resurgence.

The movie is the 29th Godzilla themed motion picture from Toho, and judging by its record in Japan so far, this film might be the Godzilla film we were all expecting when we walked into the cinema to watch Gareth Edwards' 2014 thriller.

Then again, audiences in Japan and the United States are very different, hence the film's limited box office schedule. Godzilla: Resurgence, otherwise known as Shin Godzilla, will hit theatres in the US on October 11th but will then close come October 18th, giving you a one-week window to catch a glimpse.

Godzilla: Resurgence has been filmed in Japanese, of course, but does include English subtitles. It will be available in 440 movie theatres across the United States, with tickets going on sale a month before being unveiled.

For those that would like to learn a little more about the plot of the movie, check out the description below, provided by Funimation Films:

"It’s a peaceful day in Japan when a strange fountain of water erupts in the bay, causing panic to spread among government officials. At first, they suspect only volcanic activity, but one young executive dares to wonder if it may be something different… something alive. His worst nightmare comes to life when a massive, gilled monster emerges from the deep and begins tearing through the city, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. As the government scrambles to save the citizens, a rag-tag team of volunteers cuts through a web of red tape to uncover the monster’s weakness and its mysterious ties to a foreign superpower. But time is not on their side—the greatest catastrophe to ever befall the world is about to evolve right before their very eyes."
