The developers of Gun Media sat down during PAX West to hold a panel titled 'The Art of the Kill' to talk about the basic concepts of the game, how they are implemented, how long it takes, and a behind-the-scenes look at the game.
The most recent look at the game showed off a number of Jason Voorhees' kills, some of which were called "shocking," but "satisfying" by the panel lead Adam Sessler. During the panel, Sessler asked what made the game so shocking and satisfying.
According to Ronnie Hobbs, the co-creator of Friday the 13th: The Game, it's because we've yet to do this in a game:
"We've never seen this before in a video game, it's not shocking in cinema. It's only shocking because we haven't brought it to video games yet. Maybe Manhunt, maybe, but those are criminals that you're killing. You don't really get your hands on young adults at a camp and do those type of things… Really that's the most shocking part."
