Mount & Blade is a vastly underrated, but a much appreciated medieval multiplayer game that has been played religiously by fans on PC since 2008. Warband arrived two years later as an expansion to the base game, and it has now been bundled into a nice little package for gamers on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to get their hands on. Warband has an average Steam user review rating of 96% out of over 40,000 entries, so to say it is widely well thought of is a bit of an understatement. This is not to mention that this past year, the game was ranked #30 on PC Gamer's list of the Top 100 Games of All-Time.
The console port of Mount & Blade: Warband brings everything from the PC version, which includes 32-player multiplayer, enhanced texture detail and improved visual effects.
Here's an official description of the game per an official Press Release:
In a land torn asunder by incessant warfare, it is time to assemble your own band of hardened warriors and enter the fray. Lead your men into battle, expand your realm, and claim the ultimate prize: the throne of Calradia!
- Set off on a quest for adventures and carry out the tasks you have been given or charge into battle with your own army
- Master one of the most intuitive medieval fighting systems and make every strike count, no matter if on foot or atop your steed
- Fight alone or in the online multiplayer mode with up to 32 players (i.a. Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Conquest, Battle and Siege)
Mount & Blade: Warband is out now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and retails for $19.99.
