The Modern Warfare got an entire graphical overhaul, with a ton of new assets – basically making it a new game. DigitalFoundry went ahead and compared the Xbox 360 version to the PlayStation 4 version and discovered that there were tons of new things in the game. Essentially, it is a remake – not a remaster.
There are some key differences detailed in the video. Asset quality has been upgraded throughout the game; effects work, lighting, wind simulation, and particle effects have been raised to a much higher level. Even though the game went through some almost dramatic changes, core gameplay has remained the same, but in general, a lot of other things have been changed – sometimes they are small features and other times they are much bigger.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is set to release with Modern Warfare on November 4th.
