Earlier this year rumors began flying that the Wii U would end its production cycle this year. At the time, Nintendo addressed the rumor and denied that the Wii U would be seeing its end so soon. A new rumor, coming from two Nintendo insiders, says the Wii U is ending production and it's end is as soon as this week.
Emily Rogers and 'Doctor Cupcakes,' two insiders that have a history of leaking Nintendo news, both shared the news of the console's end.
This is correct. I'm hearing production officially ends this month. https://t.co/WQL8cPqIIK

It didn't end there, though, Rogers went on to detail that Nintendo will be putting a stop on the Wii U's production this week. Eurogamer recently reported on this as well, however, they state that the Wii U ended production on September 30th.
Okay, then let's get more specific. Wii U production is ending this week. https://t.co/qYZvOnnFxw

After officially revealing the Nintendo Switch, this announcement was more than expected. Until Nintendo officially releases a statement on this, it will be treated as a rumor.
