Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel set to release in 2019

Plenty more to come.

Although Spider-Man: Homecoming isn't out for another 7 months, there are already a number of sequels planned (in traditional Marvel fashion). It seems that Marvel typically waits to officially announce sequels until after seeing the performance of the first movie for a character, Marvel seems to feel confident enough to announce the date for the second Spider-Man movie already!

The second story out of the three currently planned will be releasing July 5th, 2019, almost two years to the day after the first one will release. There are no plot details being revealed at this time, but it'll most likely see Spider-Man in the aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 and 2 (working titles) which release in May 2018 and May 2019 respectively.

Tom Holland is currently contracted for 6 movies, 3 solo films and 3 appearances and other Marvel movies (most likely Avengers films like Infinity War) so we will be seeing plenty of Spider-Man over the next few years. Luckily, Tom Holland is still pretty young so you don't have to worry about him looking like a 35-year-old man in high school anytime soon.

Marvel wants to do the Spider-Man movies similar to Harry Potter, showing him age and progress through high school so if they did one for each year of high school starting in his sophomore year, they could have  a nice complete trilogy of a high school Spider-Man.

The first trailer for the first movie dropped last night which you can watch by clicking here, and once you're done with that you can check out our in-depth breakdown of the trailer where we point out all the easter eggs, potential plot points, and more!

Spider-Man: Homecoming releases July 7th, 2017.
