Wonder Woman is making steady progress to its summer release and today a new picture from this highly anticipated movie got released for the public to behold.
This new picture depicts one of the most important moments in Wonder Woman's origin story, where she defies her mother, Queen Hippolyta, and breaks into the armory to steal the God Killer sword. The reason why Wonder Woman steals the God Killer sword is because she has been witnessing the horrors that haunt the land of man and she can no longer watch in silence.
The Amazonians, as most people know, are an all-female people who reside on the isle of Themyscira and they have a strict rule of not meddling in the affairs of the nations ruled by men. When Wonder Woman steals God Killer she defies everything the Amazonians stand for to be able to save humanity. That is what this one picture stands for.
Or as director Patty Jenkins puts it.
"This is her moment, she’s heard all the terrible things about man’s land. But she’s also heard that mankind is in need and under duress. This is her great moment to make the decision to be the one to try and save them."
Wonder Woman is set for release June 2, and then she and the off to save the world with the rest of the Justice League in November 2017.
