The sequel to last year's superhero smash hit, Deadpool, is only a few month away from shooting but the production team is still tieing more writers to it.
As reported by Collider, the writer behind Daredevil and Clover Field, Drew Goddard, has joined the writing crew for Deadpool 2. Though fans have no reason to fear that the writers of Deadpool 2 is playing the same game of hot seat as the directors of the upcoming Batman movie are playing, Goddard is joining the writer for the first Deadpool movie, Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick, on a more consultatory level. As a consultant, Goddard will mostly help hone and tune in the screenplay as it is getting closer to shooting.
Goddard is no newcomer to the sci-fi and superhero genre and he has worked on early episodes of Netflix's Daredevil and has written for several JJ Abram productions such as Lost, Alias, Clover Field, and The Cabin In The Woods. Goddard was also nominated for an Acadamy Award in 2016 for his script in the sci-fi epic The Martian. In addition, Goddard was also working on a Spider-Man spinoff movie until Sony scrapped it. The crew of Deadpool 2 definitely got some more muscles to its production.
Deadpool 2 will be directed by John Wick's David Leitch, and even though filming is scheduled to begin in May, the only member of the cast to be confirmed is Ryan 'Deadpool' Reynolds, the boots of this movie's sidekick, Cable, still needs to be filled. The other character that has been confirmed is the female bad ass Domino and fans are still debating whether or not she will be a brand new character of just the evolution of Morena Baccarin's character, Vanessa.
Deadpool 2 still has no release date but is expected to release in 2018 and we will have to wait and see if it will become the most pirated movie of its release year just as its predecessor became.
